Rio Ricardo is by the top hunter/jumper stallion, Rio Grande, and out of our best producing mare SPS Cleopatra. He comes from a very successfully showing family and he is certain to follow in his brother's and sister's footsteps. Ricky is a VERY fancy colt. He shows excellent hunter movement and free jump. He is registered American Hanoverian and we will look into approval options as a 3 year old. At his foal inspection Dr. Christman suggested I keep him a stallion which we gladly did. His performance career will be limited due to an injury as a yearling. His first foals were born in 2009. Please inquire for more information about booking your mare to him. Reasonable stud fee and a few free breedings will be given away to exceptional mares. Ricky has been started under saddle and remains quite sound although I feel his movement is somewhat limited due to the high amount of scar tissue in both front ankles. Ricky has thankfully remained very sound and is currently showing in the Baby Green Hunters and he has yet to come away less that Reserve Champion. He is leading OHJA in the division for 2011.
